The following airports may be used to fly to Poland. All of them are well connected with major European airports (details on travel to and from them are provided below):
- Warsaw Chopin (WAW),
- Warsaw Modlin (WMI),
- Kraków (KRK),
- Katowice (KTW), the closest to the conference venue.
Flying to Warsaw (Warszawa)
Whether you fly to Warsaw Chopin (WAW) or Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI), your next step is to get to the city centre. From there, you’ll be able to take a train to Katowice.
The best way to get from Warsaw Modlin Airport to the city centre is by bus. Get on at the airport (stop: Modlin Airport WMI) and get off at the stop Warsaw City Centre (Palace of Culture). Depending on the type of the bus, the ticket is between 9 and 33 PLN, and the travel takes between 40 and 60 minutes.

From there, you’ll have to walk a short distance to the Warsaw Central Station (Warszawa Centralna). The walk is about 700 m / 9 minutes long.
The best way to get from Warsaw Chopin Airport to the city centre is by train. Get on at the airport (station: Warszawa Lotnisko Chopina) and get off at Warsaw Central Station (station: Warszawa Centralna). The ticket is about 7 PLN and the journey takes about 20 minutes.
From Warsaw Central Station, you can get a direct train to Katowice (station: Katowice). The journey times range from about 2,5 to 5 hours. The ticket prices range from around 60 to 150 PLN – the price depends on the type and class of the train you intend to take.

Flying to Cracow (Kraków)
The best way to get from the Kraków Airport to Katowice is by a direct coach (shuttle bus) from the airport to the main bus station in Katowice. Check times and book tickets at:
Tiger Express: get on at Kraków Airport and get off at Katowice (the main bus station). Note that since it’s only March, timetables for June/July may not be available just yet. Currently the journey takes 55 minutes, and the ticket costs 7,4 EUR.
Neobus: get on at Kraków Airport Balice and get off at Katowice D. A. ul. Skargi 19 (the main bus station). The journey takes one hour, and the ticket costs 22,5 PLN.

Flying to Katowice
If you fly to Katowice, your next step will be to get to the city centre (if you are planning to use a train or a bus to get to Szczyrk) or to the shuttle bus stop (if you are taking the shuttle bus). The shuttle bus stop is also located not far from the city centre.
The best way to get to Katowice city centre is by bus. The travel takes up to 50 minutes. The ticket is about 27 PLN. Depending on your next step, you can get off at one of the following bus stops: Katowice Strefa Kultury, Katowice Sokolska (closest to the shuttle bus stop), or Katowice Dworzec PKP (Katowice train station).

Getting to the conference venue in Szczyrk
The easiest way to get to Szczyrk from Katowice is by the free conference shuttle bus.
The time of departure is Wednesday, 20 September 2017, at 5pm. The shuttle bus will depart from Bankowa 12, Katowice, which is located directly in the city center, near the Spodek arena and the Katowice railway station (with the adjoining Galeria Katowicka). On the map below you can see the easiest way to get to Bankowa 12 from the railway station:
Two of the organisers, Sonia and Ewa, will be there 30 minutes before the departure (4.30pm) to coordinate. Here are their cell phone numbers: +48 504 672 881 (Sonia) and +48 509 443 997 (Ewa). Feel free to call or text them if you need help finding the place on Wednesday.
Other ways of to the conference venue in Szczyrk
If you prefer to get to Szczyrk from Katowice by means other than the free shuttle bus, your options are to travel by train to Bielsko-Biała and then take a bus to Szczyrk. From Katowice, you can get a train to Bielsko-Biała Main Station (station: Bielsko-Biała Główna). The journey times range from about 60 to 90 minutes. The ticket prices range from around 15 to 25 PLN – the price depends on the type and class of the train you intend to take.

From there, you can take any bus departing to Szczyrk. Once in Szczyrk, you should get off at the Szczyrk Kolejka bus stop at Myśliwska Street, in the vicinity of the Virgo grocery store. From there, it is only a short walk to the hotel:
